With so many casual restaurant on the northcote strip, Denn is inviting and popular. A great space with a generally happy busy friday night vibe. Modern industrial furniture, seperated dining areas and mostly young crowd and waitstaff. backless stools- while looking funcky, not comfortable or encouraging of a long meal

While i have eaten at Denn once before (which was good enough for me to return last night), i will not be going back.

The standard modern mediterranean options, with appealing pizzas. My husband had a chicken rissoto, while cooked adequately there was no trace of the promised taleggio cheese, and what tasted like no seasoning. Bland and forgettable. My gnocchi special with gorganzola, roasted squash and rocket was tasty tasty however due to the rush to replace my incorrect order, it tasted like the kitchen saved time by not cooking the pasta! doughy and chewy, tasted almost raw.

apart from bringing us the wrong meal, and then insisting it was correct when i questioned it, staff came across as insincere and with poor knowledge of the menu. Meals appeared very quickly after ordering, and due to the mix up with my order, my husband had almost finished his meal before mine has been served.

wine glasses were shattered by a staff member when we first arrived and multiple drops continued through the night.

a good reasonably priced wine list was the best part of the meal!

money was taken off the bill when we complained.
